Registration as Registered Supplier Under the Energy Efficiency (Standards and Labelling) Act, Chapter 233
The Energy Efficiency (Standards and Labelling) Act, Chapter 233 (SLA) has been in effect since 14 January 2023. It regulates the import and supply of electrical appliances in Brunei Darussalam to ensure compliance with Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS). The Act currently regulates air-conditioners with a cooling capacity of 7.1 kW and below and will gradually extend to other appliances.
Companies intending to import or supply regulated appliances must first be registered as a Registered Supplier under the Act.
HOW TO APPLY
Vendors can submit their applications through the following steps:

Submit completed registration form along with the required documents to the Department of Energy via e-mail at efficiency.energy@energy.gov.bn.
- Step 2
Successful applications will be notified via e-mail.
