Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi Bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Energy, Upstream and Downstream), received a courtesy call from the BVMW (German SME Association) delegation on 13 August 2026. The delegation, representing Germany’s largest voluntary association of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), includes leading German companies from the energy, engineering, industrial technology, and manufacturing sectors. Currently in Brunei Darussalam for a strategic working visit from 12–15 August 2026, the courtesy call purpose was to discuss key areas of collaboration. Also, in attendance joining the delegation was Puan Yang Terutama Pengiran Hajah Kartini binti Pengiran Haji Tahir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Discussions focused on opportunities to deepen collaboration between Negara Brunei Darussalam and Germany in low-carbon energy and sustainable mobility, particularly in solar energy and electric vehicles, while also strengthening engagement with government agencies, local stakeholders, and industry partners, and exploring new avenues for investment and trade.
