| ENERGY TRANSITION DIVISION
Energy Transition Division (ETD) leads the development and implementation of policies and projects that drive Brunei’s energy transition. Our focus areas include Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC), Renewable Energy (RE), and Research and Development (R&D). All initiatives aim to meaningfully support energy security, economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Renewable Energy (RE) Unit
Renewable Energy Unit develops policies and drives national plans, programmes and projects related to Renewable Energy (RE). It oversees both off-grid and grid-connected RE projects across Brunei Darussalam by actively monitoring progress and facilitating implementation.
Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) Unit
Energy Efficiency and Conservation Unit (EEC) promotes energy efficiency practices and supports the implementation of EEC policies and action plans. Its goal is to reduce national electricity consumption and drive more efficient and sustainable use of electricity across all sectors.
Research and Development (R&D) Unit
The Research and Development Unit supports Brunei Darussalam’s energy transition through research, analysis, and policy development. Its roles and responsibilities are to explore alternative low-carbon energy options, assess emerging technologies and trends, and develop frameworks and policies that strengthen relevant workforce capacity in line with the relevant national blueprints.
