His Majesty Chaired the 227th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sdn. Bhd and the 113th Board of Directors Meeting of BGC

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam, on Monday, 8th December 2025 chaired the 227th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sdn. Bhd and the 113th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn. Bhd (BGC) for the fourth quarter of 2025 that was held at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Economy and Finance II and Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd. Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, in their capacity as members of Brunei LNG and BGC Board of Directors.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam delivered a titah during the meeting in which he highlighted that discussions on business plans and strategies should be forward-looking, in line with the country’s direction towards sustainable growth and value addition. This includes strengthening future competitiveness, improving the effectiveness of working methods, accelerating adaptation to changes in the global energy industry, and setting a clearer and more innovative value direction.

His Majesty also acknowledged the strong performance and progress achieved throughout the year, particularly in ensuring operational efficiency, a resilient financial position, and a commitment to safety. In this regard, His Majesty emphasized that the discussions over the next two days are very important to focus on each company’s business plans and strategies for the coming years.

The Board of Directors Meeting was also attended by the stakeholders including shareholder’s directors representing His Majesty’s government; Shell plc including Executive Vice President of Conventional Oil and Gas at Shell and Mitsubishi Corporation, Richard Howe; Division Chief Operating Officer, LNG-Asia Pacific Division, Environmental Energy Group at Mitsubishi Corporation, Gen Kunihiro; as well as leadership members from BLNG and BGC.
