His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this morning chaired the 225th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (BLNG) and the 111th Board of Meeting of Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad (BGC) for the First Quarter of the year 2025. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office building.
Upon arrival, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, and Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd. Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, in their capacity as members of the BLNG and BGC Board of Directors.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam delivered a titah. His Majesty commended the progress achieved across Brunei Shell Joint Ventures and Brunei Gas Carriers throughout 2024 in critical areas. His Majesty emphasized the importance of sustaining this momentum and further strengthening these achievements. His Majesty also encouraged the continued dedication of employees and leadership in driving performance. Furthermore, His Majesty emphasized that long-term planning is essential for ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of the BSJVs, laying a strong foundation for continued growth and success of the business.
During the meeting, critical areas such as safety, operational performance, financials, and manpower development were addressed, along with setting the company’s strategic direction for both BLNG and BGC.
The meeting commenced with a recitation of Doa and was attended by key stakeholders including Shareholder Directors representing the Government of His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Shell plc, and Mitsubishi Corporation, as well as members of the respective Management from BLNG and BGC.
His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will also chair the 414th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) and the 192nd Meeting of the Board of Directors of Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd (BSM) for the First Quarter of 2025, tomorrow.
