His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this morning chaired the 412th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad (BSP) and the 190th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Marketing Sendirian Berhad (BSM) for the Third Quarter of 2024. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office building.
Upon arrival, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, and Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, in their capacity as members of the BSP and BSM Board of Directors.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam delivered a titah at the meeting. His Majesty emphasised the importance of the Brunei Shell Joint Venture (BSJV) and BGC to collaborate to develop ideas for increasing returns, support business growth, and remain competitive into the future, where cost management remains a key value driver for long-term sustainability of all the businesses. With the large presence of the BSJV and BGC in Brunei Darussalam and its wide interface with vendors and contractors, His Majesty iterated the need to work with the relevant agencies to uphold the highest integrity at the forefront of all activities.
The meeting commenced with the recitation of Doa by Awang Haji Mohammad Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran, Mosque Affairs Officer.
Also present at the meeting were key stakeholders including Shareholder Directors representing the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Shell plc and Mitsubishi Corporation as well as members of the respective leadership teams at BSP and BSM.
During the meeting, discussions highlighted updates on the key performance areas including operations, safety, financials, and manpower development, while also addressing the long-term strategies of both BSP and BSM for the coming years and beyond. This marks the end of the Third Quarter of 2024 Board meetings for the year
