His Excellency Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and his delegation visited Seria Energy Lab (SEL) and Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (BLNG) in Belait District yesterday as part of a three-day state visit.

The delegation visited SEL where the president was welcomed by the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister of Home Affairs as Minister-in-Attendance Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office and Managing Director of Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya and Acting Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) Haji Mohd Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah.

After a tour of SEL and a briefing by the Acting Managing Director of BSP, the visitors headed to BLNG’s headquarters in Lumut.

They were w​elcomed by Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew; and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Brunei LNG Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib.

The visitors were briefed by Hajah Farida and Brunei LNG officials before touring the plant.
