SHENA Apprenticeship Scheme Contract Agreement Signing Ceremony

​The Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA), in collaboration with JobCentre Brunei (JCB) under the Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC), held a Contract Agreement Signing Ceremony for SHENA Apprenticeship Scheme at the Banquet Hall, Prime Minister’s Office.

Present as the Guest of Honor to witness the signing ceremony was Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office as personal representative to Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi Bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as Minister In-Charge of SHENA. Also in attendance was Yang Mulia Dr. Hajah Siti Haziah Binti Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Head Secretariat MPEC.

The event began with opening remarks by Yang Mulia Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Interim Chief Executive Officer of SHENA, where he highlighted that the event is an important milestone in developing a positive impact to further build and enhance the safety and health culture in Brunei Darussalam as well as to improve the overall safety and health performance nationally.

Ten apprentices successful for the first cohort of the SHENA Apprenticeship Scheme signed the Contract Agreement and signing on behalf of SHENA was Yang Mulia Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Interim Chief Executive Officer of SHENA. The event concluded with a group photo session.

With the aim to produce highly skilled Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officers, SHENA Apprenticeship Scheme is a structured development programme, where the apprentices will continue their assignment for an additional six months with SHENA upon completion of their 18-month i-Ready Programme. SHENA will equip the apprentices with enriched learning experiences through practical skills and obtain relevant certifications to ensure that they are industry-ready and marketable in the industry.
