Brunei Darussalam participated in the 8th Hydrogen Energy Ministerial Meeting (HEM) in Chiba and the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference (LNG PCC) 2026 in Tokyo, Japan, led by Yang Mulia Noor Dina Zharina binti Haji Yahya, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Upstream and Downstream) at the Prime Minister’s Office. The LNG PCC was also joined by His Excellency Wan Hadfi Lutfan bin Hj Abdul Latif, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam Japan.
Discussions focused on strengthening energy security through hydrogen, ammonia and LNG, supported by resilient supply chains, infrastructure investment and enabling policies. At the Hydrogen Energy Ministerial Meeting, Brunei Darussalam highlighted the importance of hydrogen development alongside firm demand, credible offtakers, relevant skills, infrastructure development and a robust integrated ecosystem to strengthen energy security and unlock new low-carbon growth opportunities.
