His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah highlighted positive operational momentum shown across the BSJV and BGC Companies and emphasised the importance of maintaining this momentum to ensure continued progress. Furthermore, His Majesty encouraged the BSJV and BGC Companies to be resilient amid a changing global energy landscape, stressing the importance of forward planning to ensure the BSJV and BGC Companies remain agile and successful in the long term. His Majesty made the titah while chairing the 226th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, BLNG and the 112th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad, BGC for the Second Quarter of 2025. The meeting marks one year since His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam assumed the role of Chairman of the Brunei Shell Joint Ventures BSJV and BGC companies. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office building, 29th July morning.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister for Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office, in their capacity as members of the BLNG and BGC Board of Directors.
The meeting commenced with a recitation of Doa and attended by key stakeholders including Shareholder Directors representing the Government of His Majesty, Shell PLC, and Mitsubishi Corporation, as well as members of the respective Management from BLNG and BGC. During the meeting, critical areas such as safety, operational performance, financials, and manpower development were addressed for both BLNG and BGC. His Majesty will also chair the 415th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd and the 193rd Meeting of the Board of Directors of Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd for the Second Quarter of 2025, 30th July 2025.
