Courtesy Call with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam

Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, today received an Introductory Call from His Excellency Yutaka Kikuta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam.

During the Courtesy Call, both sides exchange views on the existing cooperation and bilateral relations in the energy sector.  

Brunei Darussalam and Japan have maintained strong energy cooperation since the early 1970s, with Japan remains a key destination for Brunei’s LNG exports. Apart from LNG, Brunei’s export to Japan have now expanded to include crude oil, methanol and urea.
