His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this morning chaired the 223rd Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (BLNG) and the 109th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad (BGC) for the Third Quarter of 2024. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office building.
Upon arrival, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, and Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, in their capacity as members of the BLNG and BGC Board of Directors. At the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam delivered a titah.
His Majesty stressed on zero tolerance towards abuse of power and corruption, as well as the importance of upholding business integrity during the execution of all business activities, with focus on cost optimisation while driving companies’ performances. In his titah, His Majesty reiterated that shareholders should continue to explore new investment opportunities and identify new technologies to remain competitive. The meeting commenced with the recitation of Doa by Awang Haji Mohammad Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran, Mosque Affairs Officer.
Also present at the meeting were key stakeholders including Shareholder Directors representing the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Shell plc and Mitsubishi Corporation as well as members of the respective leadership teams at BLNG and BGC. During the meeting, critical areas were addressed such as operational performance, safety, financials, and manpower development, while also charting the companies’ strategic direction for the coming years and beyond for both BLNG and BGC. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, will also chair the 412th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad (BSP) and the 190th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Brunei Shell Marketing Sendirian Berhad (BSM) for the Third Quarter of 2024, tomorrow.
