Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sendirian Berhad (BSM) has launched the Fill Safe, Feel Safe 2022 campaign on 24th August 2022 at the PGGMB Building, LR Floor. This is BSM’s fourth series of the campaign since its first launch in 2014.
The event commenced with the recitation of the opening prayers and was followed by welcoming remarks by Yang Mulia Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, the Managing Director of BSM where he highlighted BSM’s commitment to providing a safe refueling environment and experience to all visiting customers at Shell retail stations. The BSM Managing Director also shared statistics on recent incidents that could have been avoided by ensuring the service champions are well trained and equipped in conducting their duty, and by reaching out to customers to provide awareness and compliance with the Retail Safe Refueling Guidelines.
Present during the event as Guest of Honor was Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. He delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the collaboration between BSM, the governing authorities of Brunei Darussalam and the public to deliver the aspiration of an incident-free retail site and service to the public refueling at Shell retail stations. As part of the event ceremony, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications also handed over Fill Safe, Feel Safe posters to Shell retail stations management to create awareness on safety at Shell retail stations to the public .
The Fill Safe, Feel Safe campaign for 2022 is in cooperation and support of the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam (PA) and BSM to create public awareness on the safety at Shell retail stations and the consequences of non-compliance which may expose both customers and service champions to potential dangers, strengthening the compliance culture across all Shell retail stations and emphasizing the well-being of Service Champions and their safety in performing their duty to ensure customers safety and compliance.
The campaign will be held for four weeks, with each week focusing on a different theme based on common incidents that has occurred at Shell retail stations: A joint visit to selected Shell retail stations will be carried out between BSM, PA, the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) and the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) to communicate with retailers and the public on the campaign’s objectives and purposes.

Also present during the launch event were Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali, the Commissioner of Police at the Royal Brunei Police Force; Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo Bin Sokiaw, the Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, Yang Mulia Awang Haji Azhar Bin Haji Yahya, the Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office; Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri Bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications; Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira Bin Pengiran Haji Petra, the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office; Yang Mulia Awang Haji Hairul Mohd Daud Bin Haji Abdul Karim, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and Yang Mulia Awang Ridzuan Haji Ahmad, the Acting Director of Land Transport Department at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications.
In the afternoon, Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sendirian Berhad staff, together with officers from the Prime Minister’s Office, PA and retail station representatives attended a mass Asar prayers and a religious talk at Masjid Ash-Shaliheen. The session was to bless the occasion and the campaign. Also present was Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo Bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office.
