In conjunction with the 17th National Youth Day 2022, the Energy In-Country Value Division organized two mini dialogue sessions on 10th and 11th August 2022 at the International Convention Centre, Berakas. Supported by Young Professionals Network Brunei (YPN) and Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) for the Youth Connect Platform, the dialogue sessions intended to create awareness of what the Energy Sector is about and what it has to offer, and to garner interest from the youth to be a part of the Energy Sector, either through employment or as a business owner.
The first dialogue session titled “Ignite Your Mindset: Welcome to Energy Sector!” was held on 10th August 2022. This dialogue session brought together youth officers from the Department of Energy, Department of Electrical Services and Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam, who discussed the various opportunities in the Energy Sector (oil and gas, and power), both in terms of employment and businesses. Attended by more than 15 youths, the panelists also shared some tips on self-development as young officers in the Energy Sector.
The second dialogue session was conducted on 11th August 2022. Titled “Paradigm Shift: Unleash Your Entrepreneurial Potential”, the panelists of the session were the emerging youth entrepreneurs who are participating in the i-Usahawan Programme – Visionarycrew Project and HanR Sdn Bhd. Also part of the panelists were industry experts in entrepreneurship programmes and trainings from DARe. The panelists shared their professional and motivational experiences on rising up to the challenges in starting up and the support received from the relevant agencies in building their capabilities throughout their entrepreneurial journey. The session was attended by more than 15 youths.
