Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office attended the 4th India Energy Week (IEW 2026), held from 27th to 30th January 2026 in Goa, India. Accompanying the Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office were officials from the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam.
Convened under the patronage of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India and jointly organized by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and dmg events, IEW 2026 brought together global energy leaders to exchange insights, foster collaboration, and explore strategic solutions to pressing energy challenges. Key themes included energy collaboration, energy transition, energy innovation, and energy investment mobilisation, which are in line with Brunei Darussalam’s sustainability agenda.
IEW 2026 highlighted a pragmatic energy transition approach that balances energy security with sustainable growth – an approach relevant to Brunei, where diversification into renewables and new technologies can progress alongside the continued role of conventional fuels to ensure reliability, affordability and economic resilience.
